An artificial intelligence algorithm for prostate cancer diagnosis
Adenocarcinoma of the prostate is the second most common cancer diagnosed in men,1 with more than 1 million newly diagnosed cases of prostate cancer annually. Hence, prostate specimens are frequently encountered in surgical pathology practice. Today, the histopathological assessment of biopsy tissue is the mainstay of diagnosing prostate cancer, which includes core needle biopsy (CNB) and, if warranted, surgical resection.
